Watch Out For Michigan State

never_underestimate_tom_izzoNobody gets their team more prepared for the month of March then Tom Izzo. The Spartans haven’t been getting as much publicity as other teams this year in college basketball due to the fact that the Big Ten is loaded this year, but Michigan State is 20-4 on the season and hold a solid 9-2 record in the Big Ten that has five teams ranked in the top 20, Michigan State being ranked at #12. The Spartans have been remaining solid battling with some injuries of some key players. The guard play of Keith Appling(14.1 PPG) and heralded Freshman Gary Harris(12.7 PPG) will be the key to how far the Spartans go in March. They have played their way into becoming one of the best backcourts in the country. With those two, as long as the explosive big man Adreian Payne and athletic wing Branden Dawson, the Spartans will be a dangerous team comes March.
Izzo In March
Tom Izzo has been the NCAA tournament 15 times, he has made it to the Elite Eight seven times, Six Final Fours, and one national championship. I think what helps the Spartans is playing one of the toughest non-conference schedules there is to play year in and year out. This season’s schedule included Uconn, Kansas, Miami, and Texas. Plain and simple, Tom Izzo knows how to get it done come March no matter how the season is going prior to that. Injuries will not be excuse down the road. With all that being said keep an eye out for the Michigan State Spartans.
